Happy New Year!
We hope you are all keeping safe, warm, and healthy!
As part of our ongoing District Training Assemblies, we invite you to join us on Monday, January 17 at 7 pm (via Zoom) for a special one hour focusing on Vocational Service. Our guest speaker for this event is Mark Wafer. Mark Wafer is a Rotarian with the Collingwood South Georgian Bay Club. His partner, Valarie, is Rotary International Director for Zones 28/32.

Winterdance Dogsled Tours
Feb 01, 2022 7:15 AM
Growing up in the middle of her grandparents' farm, Tanya has adored animals and the outdoors her whole life too. Passionate about the environment she pursued a degree in Environmental Engineering at Guelph and continued on to earn her P.Eng. before deciding with Hank that their passion for the wilderness and their dogs were taking them in a different direction. As 4 children joined their family as Winterdance was started, Tanya took the management side of the business on so she could be home with the kids thanks to a home office. She has also wrote 2 books about the couples adventures and races and enjoys sharing their stories and lessons around overcoming challenges, mindset of a leader, building great teams and chasing dreams with corporations, organizations and schools. We are delighted to welcome Tanya McCready to CK Rotary! |

African Women in Science and Studies of the Great Lakes
May 03, 2022 7:15 AM
Collaboration among Rotary Clubs and Rotarians is a key element to our success in many Areas of Focus. Please join us to hear Rotarian John Borst outline an interesting collaborative initative within Rotary in Kingston highlighting education, international cooperation and protecting the environment! The International Institute for Sustainable Development, (IISD) is centred in Winnipeg and has established an organization the African Centre for Aquatic Research and Education (ACARE). As part of the plan to save the GLA, IISD-ACARE established a program African Women in Science (AWIS). The goal of this program is to train young African women scientists in water research as women in Africa, like much of the rest of the World, are under-represented in the field of aquatic science. Please join us this morning to hear from John Borst whose goal is to help IISD find the money for the Canadian portion. John says, "I estimate there are 112 Rotary Clubs on the Canadian shores of the Laurentian Great lakes plus there are another 42 clubs in District 5550, (Northwestern Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan). My goal is to successfully speak to 100 of those clubs and raise $600.00 from each."
