The Star Catchers program through Sistema Kingston is gearing up for it's concerts this spring.
Star Catchers was supported by our Club through our Fall Community Grants in 2025.
The presentation for families will take place on Thursday March 12th at 4:30 pm and club members are invited to join for this event! It is not being opened widely to the public as space is. It should last about 30-40 minutes.
At present we meet in a hybrid format - live at The Spire and via Zoom.
The Rotary Four Way Test
Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned
Rotary Reflection
For food in a world where many walk in hunger
For peace in a world where many walk in fear
For friends in a world where many walk alone
And for the opportunity to serve others through Rotary,
May we be truly thankful!

Acknowledgement of Territory
We are gathered on traditional Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Huron-Wendat Territory. we are grateful to be able to join together in Rotary Fellowship on these lands.
This morning was the annual launch of the March Is Easter Seals Month for our club. Dave Short and Linda Clouthier from the Kingston Rotary Club were on hand to provide information about Easter Seals in our region.
They shared information and new initiatives from Easter Seals, including the establishment of Voyageur Camp, a camp for Easter Seals kids when the age out of the traditional Easter Seals Camp. It serves adults from 19 to 39 years of age.
On of the highlights was a talk by Nicole, an Easter Seals mom. She meets the challenges with raising a child with physical challenges with a great attitude and sense of humour.
The club will be setting up it's usual fundraising team page, watch for an email with the link. Help us to achieve our fundraising goal.
Dave was thanked for his presentation by Elizabeth this morning.

Announcements
Bill Egnatoff
Bill reported on the Unnamed Youth Project (UYP) meeting at City Hall on Thursday, February 12th. Bill, Ana , Greg, and Roger were there representing our club. During the meeting, the Active Pass app was launched. This app is a guide to meaningful activities for youth in the area, and replaces the paper Active Pass card (which they all lost anyways)
Youth shared their stories of difficulties and recovery and highlighted the need for the UYP.
The Sisters of Providence also announced that the were gifting $557,000 to the project to keep it going for the first 3 years. During that time a endowment fund will be created, with a goal of around $5 million to fund it permanently. We at C-K Rotary have to decide if we want to play a role, and what role that will be.
Bill was sporting his spiffy UYP t-shirt this morning.
Elsabe Falkson
Elsabe, our happy wanderer, has returned from a month long stint in India as part of a Rotary Friendship exchange. She presented President John with oodles of banners (10,11?). During the exchange Elsabe was at the dedication of the newest Rotary Peace University site, where Rotary Peace Scholars from around the world will study. Their group also met another Rotary Friendship Exchange group from Uganda, and discussed our Rotary Mengo Blood Bank projects.
WELCOME BACK !!
Greg Mumford and John Farrow - Auction, Bingo
The 2026 Auction process has started! First meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday the 18th at 5:30 pm on Zoom. We will be discussing in part day and time of the week to have the meetings going forward.
Bingo slots for the next time period are in and will be posted to the website. Please look at them and contact Greg to sign up. Two good thing - we have the same number of slots and only 1 9 pm slot. Bad thing - that 9 pm slot is New Year's Eve. We have also done a coup,e of extra slots (thanks Heather Nogrady to supplement our income).
Ana da Ponte Thomson (onging)
Please, Please, PLEASE set a reminder to respond when Jim sends out his email confirming your attendance at our weekly meeting, and if you are having breakfast. This aids Ana in ordering food. (I set a reminder in my phone for every Sunday morning to remind me to respond).
Next Bingo with open sots is Thursday March 19th, 7 pm. Check the website under member information for other dates and let Greg Mumford know when you are available for a shift.
