The Rotary Foundation and its fascinating story
The Rotary Foundation is a non-profit corporation that supports the efforts of Rotary International to achieve World understanding and peace through humanitarian, cultural exchange and educational programs.
Funds are used to support Our Work in ending polio, promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, supporting education, improving maternal and child health, growing local economies, protecting the environment, and disaster response.
THE ROTARY FOUNDATION was founded in 1917 and is a subsidiary of ROTARY INTERNATIONAL, itself founded in 1905. It is globally active in over 200 countries and territories. More than 35,000 Rotary clubs carry out life-changing sustainable projects.
Starting with a mere US $ 26.50 in 1917, The Rotary Foundation is today a recognized as a 4-star charity, the Charity Navigator’s highest level.
The Rotary Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable purposes and is governed by a Board of Trustees.
