Can you handle getting old? He posed and outlined his framework for addressing key questions. Read more and watch the whole presentation!

Marc Seguin. Author of Advocacy in Aging - Build Your Team for Life Transitions, accompanied by his spouse Erica, shared many stories and a clear simple plan for us to get everything in place in case we suddenly die or gradually lose the capacity to care for ourselves. Do you have a sound financial plan that includes current expenses, the unexpected, and a legacy? Is your will up to date? Have you appointed Power of Attorneys for property and personal care? Are they registered with your bank and other key organizations? Are you actively engaged in transition? Are you continuing open conversation with everyone involved?

We are all living longer, with a significant likelihood of some reduction in our ability to operate independently, caused by natural aging, life events, or illness. By planning for the unplanned and building a team of advocates, it is possible to ensure continuity and consistency in the management of financial, physical, and mental affairs.

Marc introduces his PACT (Plan-Activate-Communicate-Transition) planning framework, allowing all to live with peace of mind, knowing affairs are well organized, communicated, and ready for transition to trusted advocates.

Marc is the author of Advocacy In Aging, a book about estate and healthcare planning for the living years.

Here is the video of Mark's talk.

Marc has helped many families including his own, plan for and deal with the inevitable changes in life, triggered by unplanned events or aging. These experiences have enabled him to crystallize an approach, in everyday language, to maintaining continuity in financial affairs and personal care.

Marc was featured in the Globe & Mail, in a Q&A interview with Rob Carrick titled, “Thoughts for people who love managing their money, but worry about advancing age.”

Marc, a father of 3 boys, lives in Ottawa, and is an avid skier and loves the outdoors.

Marc was introduced by his friend Greg Mumford, who asked him to speak to us, and was thanked by Jim Rymerson
