Smiles and Stuffies!

Tipi Moza and More!

Thank you Pet Smart!

Together, we brought Smiles and Stuffies to 650 children in the Kingston area!

Our Cataraqui-Kingston Rotary Club loves to be involved in “hands on” community activities!  And one of our favourites is assembling Christmas Gift Bags for the children of Tipi Moza, an organization that provides affordable and subsidized housing for Aboriginal, Métis, and Inuit people in Kingston.

Since 2019, club members have shopped, wrapped, and packaged an array of gifts, all geared to the age and gender of each child living in a Tipi Moza home.  And each year Toys R Us has helped to make our efforts a success with their generous donations of toys, gift cards, and discounts!  Thank youToys R Us for your continued support!

The following year, in addition to our Rotary gift bags, we attached an adorable “stuffie” to each bag, thanks to the generosity of Pet Smart Kingston!  These stuffies are rather large, soft and cuddly stuffed animals that were enthusiastically received by all 40 children, aged one or less, to 18!

This past Christmas, when President Ana returned to Pet Smart, Staff Trainer and Community Coordinator, Robert Martin, not only donated 47 stuffies for our Tipi Moza Christmas Gift Bags, but also offered another 600 stuffies for Ana to distribute
to other children in the Kingston area!

The St. Vincent de Paul Society, Martha’s Table, South Frontenac Community Services, Loughborough Public School, Kingston Indigenous Language Nest, Lionhearts, Autism Network LAC, and Family and Children’s services of KFL&A all received at least 50 stuffies each!
