11. Member Participation
Section 1 — Member contribution. Members are expected to contribute substantially to the activities of the club. Members are encouraged to contribute in ways that balance well with their commitments outside Rotary. To this end, members are invited and encouraged to attend regular club meetings, to serve on committees, teams, and other groups according to their interest, expertise, and capability, and otherwise to engage in the club’s service projects, fundraising, events, club operations, and other activities.
Section 2 — Leave. Any member may be excused from expectations of participation in the activities of the club for a period not longer than 12 months, for reasons, conditions, and circumstances the board considers good and sufficient. Members so excused will be expected to continue to pay dues and other regular fees. The board may renew this exemption from participation from time to time.
